Hi, I’m Matthew - one of the co-founders of Whalesync (YC S21). Over the last three years, I’ve purchased over 100 pieces of software and evaluated what feels like a billion times as many.

I believe that picking the right tools produces a competitive advantage, but it’s also a huge time suck to be testing software all day. Every new startup hits pretty much the same set of problems, so I felt I could save others some time. Below is a list of the tools you’ll probably need at a few different stages pre-Series A.

My goal was to make a list others could copy without having to think. For that reason, it’s definitely not exhaustive. Think more 80/20 rule here. If you’re building a SaaS app, this should cover your basics.

Hope this is helpful! If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me an email → [email protected].

Cheers!

Think Zapier for data syncing rather than automations.

Companies like Ramp, Webflow, and Alchemy build programmatic SEO pages, CRM apps, and other awesome things with Whalesync.
